Zuzu and I were heading to the kitchen this morning to make my coffee when we rounded the corner of the hall and right around the corner was.....THE CAT!
They were standing there face to face, in complete shock! They even touched noses. Then Zuzu wagged her tail and did a little hop, making Koshka back up and hiss (but not run away). Zuzu gave a bark...another little hiss....pause. They really didn't know what to do!
I told Zuzu to come help with my coffee and she happily came into the kitchen to get out of the situation.
I'm starting to think this co-existing thing is actually going to work! Mild anxiety, tempered by lots of curiosity, is pretty good for this stage of the game.
